A Financial Literacy Workshop for Teens with Donna Denoncourt, Boston Light Financial
Your teenager just landed their first job. Maybe it is a summer lifeguarding gig, waitressing on weekends, or a camp counselor position. Whatever it is, that first paycheck is a defining moment and what they do with it matters more than they know.
This fun, interactive two-hour workshop is designed specifically for teens who are earning their first income and want to learn how to make smart, confident decisions with their money from day one. No experience needed. Just show up with your questions and an open mind!

Botanical Eco-Printing with Fresh Flowers (Tatakizome) with The Attic Stitch
Celebrate the beauty of spring through making.
Begin your day with an inspiring, hands-on exploration of botanical eco-printing using fresh flowers. In this course, you’ll learn the Japanese eco-printing technique, Tataki-zomé —a natural eco-printing process that captures the crisp shapes, colors, and textures of flowers directly onto fabric.
In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll design and create your own floral wreath tote bag, build a personal palette with seasonal flowers on fabric.
You will learn how to achieve clear, detailed prints using the Tataki-zomé hammering technique, along with the basics of fabric preparation and color fixing—so you can continue exploring eco-printing at home.

Introduction to Swedish Folk Art (Dalmalning) / week 3
A 3-Week Painting Series at Birdhouse - ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED!
Join us for a hands-on introduction to Dalmalning, traditional Swedish folk painting from the 1700s–1800s. This class is designed to be approachable, creative, and deeply rooted in tradition—perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike.
Your Instructor
Tina Rawson
Tina is of Swedish descent and has studied with Pieper Bloomquist, the American master of Dalmalning. She lives in Newburyport, MA and works in Haverhill, bringing both historical knowledge and a warm, flexible teaching style to the classroom.
What You’ll Learn
Week 1: Foundations & Brushwork
We’ll begin with an overview of Dalmalning—its history, style, and motifs. You’ll learn:
How to hold and load the brush
Essential decorative strokes used in Swedish folk art
Foundational techniques that set you up for success
No prior experience is required. If you’ve practiced folk art before, you’ll have a head start, but this class is designed for all levels.
Week 2: Flowers & Color
Using the brushstrokes you’ve learned, we’ll begin painting flowers:
Learn several traditional floral forms
Work with the classic Swedish color palette (with room for personal preference)
Explore traditional motifs while maintaining creative freedom
Our inspiration will be the work of Winter Carl Hansson, a favorite of Pieper Bloomquist.

Each month, join us for Bird’s Eye View—a relaxed, energizing group coaching circle led by leadership coach (and fellow Birdhouse member!) Karen Pambianchi.
Together, we’ll dive into meaningful big-picture themes that shape both our personal and professional lives—confidence, feedback, perfectionism, cultural challenges, self-advocacy, and more. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese hand-stitching practice rooted in simplicity, mindfulness, and care. In this relaxed, hands-on session, you’ll be introduced to the essential Sashiko tools, including needles and Sashiko thread, and guided through fun, easy, and colorful patterns.
We’ll walk through stitching sequences step by step, so you can stitch with confidence and ease while enjoying a calm, creative atmosphere. Whether you’re brand new to stitching or looking for a restorative creative practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space to slow down, focus your hands, and connect with the process.

Presence Over Presents is a two-hour, device-free connection experience designed for couples, families, and friend groups who want to prioritize quality time over consumption this holiday season. Instead of another activity focused on doing or buying, this is an experience built around being together, meaningfully.
At Birdhouse in Amesbury, you'll settle into a warm, cozy space with seasonal treats and hot beverages. Your phones will be secured (we use Yondr pouches), and you'll be guided through 90 minutes of progressively deepening conversation using our thoughtfully designed conversation framework.
This isn't therapy. It isn't a workshop. It's a professionally facilitated space where you can slow down, connect authentically with the people you came with, and practice the presence we so often promise each other but rarely create space for.
