On the winter solstice, as the year darkens and the holidays accelerate, we invite you to pause and practice the gift that matters most: presence.
Presence Over Presents is a two-hour, device-free connection experience designed for couples, families, and friend groups who want to prioritize quality time over consumption this holiday season. Instead of another activity focused on doing or buying, this is an experience built around being together, meaningfully.
At Birdhouse in Amesbury, you'll settle into a warm, cozy space with seasonal treats and hot beverages. Your phones will be secured (we use Yondr pouches), and you'll be guided through 90 minutes of progressively deepening conversation using our thoughtfully designed conversation framework.
This isn't therapy. It isn't a workshop. It's a professionally facilitated space where you can slow down, connect authentically with the people you came with, and practice the presence we so often promise each other but rarely create space for.

For 29 years, the Amesbury Cultural Council has organized a city-wide tour of working artists' studios each November. Artists, makers, and businesses throughout Amesbury and beyond open their doors to the public for two days of creativity, shopping, food, and fun for all ages.
All artists with studios in Amesbury are welcome to participate. For artists who don't have studios in Amesbury, our downtown businesses, City Hall, and the Costello Center become gracious hosts for the weekend, providing space for artists to showcase their work and set up shop.
A FREE trolley transports visitors to almost a dozen stops across town, and every year brings something different!

Join a group of local women who have curated a day of opportunities for networking, inspiration, and fun!
Registration will open at 8:00 a.m., at Birdhouse where guests will be treated to a delicious breakfast buffet prepared by Chef Karen Cooks.
At 8:30 a.m., our day will kick off with an inspirational panel of female business owners from the Trades Mill community including: Sacha Field- Zach Field Drums & Music & ZFDM Foundation, Michelle Miakos- 8 Waves Creative, Crystal Rimoczy- Birdhouse, Jodi McGroarty- Birdhouse & Megan Kinsey- Motivate, sharing how the concepts of purpose and passion have impacted their lives until this point and how they use them to continue their growth moving forward.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an intermediate artist, this class will equip you with the techniques to create stunning watercolor pieces that showcase the elegance and intricacy of nature’s wonders.
Throughout the course, you will learn foundational watercolor techniques such as layering, blending, wet-on-wet, and dry-brush work, all while focusing on the delicate details of flowers and plants.
